mini book

so I have been super busy and that's why I haven't blogged recently. But I have been busy creating too, this is a mini book for a friend.. On her 30th birthday she had a photo booth, so I have taken some of the photos turned them into black and white and used an old k and company Masion collection pad.
I have used the Tim Holtz film strip die and  a sizzix film strip die to create some of my pages.

Me

Using metal accents, embellishments, Prima paper and some lovely fluid Tattered angels glimmer mists, I was able to put together this layout.
I loved using the cogs and watch bases, styling the grunge board accessories to accompany the picture.  I also used some treasured gold on top of pieces to highlight them.
I have spent a while (as always) tittervating and fiddle faffing with this piece, but so glad that it has finally come together.
I think what pushed me to finish this layout was the inspiration from the paperartsy blog that has taken on a new format this year, it has really given me the push I have needed so far this year as my mojo has been seriously missing... I have another project on the go so am looking forward to getting that put up very soon!!

Happiness in a metal clad box

Here is an embossed metal clad sizzix Brenda Walton shadow box die that I have used in conjunction with the paperartsy challenge blog theme of 'shiny stuff'.
After embossing the ten seconds studio metal sheet with some Tim Holtz embossing folders, I die cut them using the same base die, painted them with black fresco paint, rubbed it with a dry cloth, then added salty ocean distress paint and rubbed over with the fresco chalk paint.  I loved the final effect that this gave.
On in the insert I mounted some metal wire grid material and layered the picture with an angel wing heat embossed with stampendous aged ivory embossing enamel; some torn flowers; metal cogs; dusty attic which was rusted with some rusting powder and some torn off muslin sheets.
Again, I enjoyed this and it definitely was a challenge for me! Looking forward to the next one!

You are a Star!!

Sorry that I haven't blogged for ages, I'm an extremely bad blogger, but I have lots of fun projects lined up for the coming year.
As you know, I'm on the design team for papermaze, and this was the layout I designed for my December post using the Bo Bunny christmas collection called Candy Cane.
