DT post

This is my most on the papermaze blog as a DT member.  As you can tell I'm quite enjoying these project life, style of scrapbooking. The idea is you can put in photos without spending lots of time on a layout. It's meant yo be quick and effortless.
But as you can see I have been able to be creative with use of embellishments, die cuts, stamps and TH washi tape
I have even been able to use some metal grid I got from a car boot. The cogs from some dusty attic alongside some die cut ones using spellbinders dies. The paper is a prima range and fits in well with the industrial iron giant.

been published

before the summer holidays I was published in a scrap booking magazine. I was asked to do the budget challenge, which was create 3 layouts in £10 and use basic tools, pencil, scissors, glue etc.
so these are my 3 layouts I created.
this layout uses alpha stickers from my sticker sheet to create  a background

this layout contains a lot of fussy cutting work to create a lattice behind the photo and clusters of flowers
this layout I have created frames using scrap board and patterned strips that are on the bottom of 12x12 patterned paper sheets. The centre of the embellishment is created with an old jeans button

Quick update

Sorry I haven't blogged, but there's been so much going on I simply haven't had time. Little man has gone back to school after a busy summer holidays, but the transition in to yr2 hasn't been smooth. So there have been lots of meetings with teacher etc. On a crafty note I have had some magazine work and been published and I'm now on the DT for a local scrapbboking store, papermaze. I'm so honoured to have been asked, so if you want to see my latest page check our the papermaze blog.
Will get round to posting some creations when life is a little calmer

paperartsy challenge fabric hanging

The very talented penny nuttall did a fab wall hanging and this is my take on her challenge. I have used fresco paints along with Wendy vecchi flower stencil and the JOFY stencil. . Machine stitched round the edges, hand sewn the centres with scruffy French knots and added some brown buttons.
I was hoping to do more to it but unfortunately my 5yr old has the dreaded chicken pox, so it been all hand on deck here. with cool baths and some Aloe Vera gel.

paperatsy challenge

Penny Nuttall had been the GD for this weeks paperarsty challenge and she did a lovely dimensional piece using Darcy stamps and as I don't have those in my collection and wondered how I could interrupt  what she made.
So again I have used my JOFY stamps and a gate die to make a secret garden. was hoping to complete some of the other challenges but I have simply run out of time.

paperartsy 3 up challenge

paperartsy have had a there 3 up challenge, showcasing many artists  examples of inspirational work using the new paperartsy stamps. so I decided to give it a go using small journaling pockets to display my takes on there projects. As I have some of the new JOFY stamps along with some old paperartsy stamps i decided that would be the way I would go. I used some fresco paints dylusions inks, distress ink and some old green papers from pink paislee  to create my montage . I ran out of time to do the last card.

back again

well the half term here not much crafting has been done. I did get round to making mothers day cards and a birthday card for my mum. plus 2 money wallets for my niece and nephew who turned 15  this month.
After being inspired by the paperarsty project life page I did in the previous post with JOFY stamps  (and I won a set of stamps on there blog) I decided to give another project life page a try
This time I used crate paper DIY papers, along side some MME chalk board frames. my newly purchase chevron punch from stampin up, a papertrey ink die and a wood veneer embellishment.

the only saving grace about this month is it was my annual trip to Alexandra Palace (AP) for the big stamp and scrap booking show. My good crafting friend Janina drives us there, Liz  makes us laugh and Emma and I sit in the back, like a couple of children giggling or falling asleep. I have to say I wasn't feeling my best, tired after a late night at work, back pain after lifting little man on to a trampoline and my hay fever playing up. Any way I made a list and got most of what I wanted plus some extras. Card stock from Anna Marie Designs. some junkyard findings by Prima, metal fastenings from the MDF man, Paperartsy goodies. dies from Sammuel Taylors, antiquing cream demoed by Andy Skinner, Project life bits, and stamps from inkylicious. I was totally spent out , well it was my birthday money

ode to project life\paperatsy

wanted to try something different after seeing the paperartsy blog this week. Pam Thorburn did a page based on pocket scrapbooking and this is my take on it.
I have used canvas paper, used gesso to prime the pages. Made backgrounds using fresco paints. used a floral mask with snowflake paint. Used two JOFY stamp plates . Painted my flowers and added a quote and book plate.

a recent page. Skissedilla challenge

hi all back again this time showing a recent scrapbook page of my little man as an angel. Every year we go to the crib service and the church allow all the kids to get  dressed up as a  nativity character and this year he decided he wanted to go as an angel.
I used the basic grey serenade papers. Lots of distressing, misted flowers with chalk board glimmer mist, prima embellishments, tissue tape, flowers and bling.
the wing was a template drawn on to chip bard painted and embossed with frantage embossing powder and the frame is a die again cut out of chipboard and painted

new year, new challenge. Paperartsy and Tando

I haven't done much crafting due to Christmas and having a crafty room sort out. But after attending the bramford crop and completing a scrapbooking page (now that's good for me) I have felt inspired to craft
So on to the new challenge. Paperartsy do a weekly challenge and this weeks artist is Clare Lloyd who has a fantastic blog, with tutorials and stunning, inspirational work
Her first challenge was an altered wooden spool and this is my take on her challenge
I have used fresco paints, paperartsy ding dong and JOFY leaf stamps, wire, paper roses, metal clock hands and a chipboard cog

this  is the side view of my piece as you can see I have used an American crafts round ribbon spool as my base for my clock bird and that is fixed to the spool with the use of wire and a couple of black buttons
